Hey there!
Thanks for stopping by.

In case you don't already know me, I figured I should introduce myself and explain a little bit about what's going on here and who I am. Other than being a writer, of course... that bit's kinda obvious, huh?

My Story

Hi! I'm Avery (they/them). I'm a queer, non-binary, neurodivergent writer-in-the-making from regional Victoria, Australia. I now live in Melbourne and study my craft at Swinburne University. As mentioned, I love stories, always have. I tell them in writing, yes, but I also have a passion for many mediums: games, film, theatre, music and more. I'm not quite sure where my creative journey will lead me yet, but I'm enjoying the ride in the meantime.

In my spare time, I volunteer as a Scout leader, and remain a Scout myself, as I have since eight years old. Scouts is a huge part of my life, and continues to shape who I am to this day. I also spend arguably far too much time rolling far too many dice in the two tabletop games I run.

I love to write with queer themes or undertones, so often have queer and neurodiverse representation, or analogous themes to those experiences, in my writing. For now, this blog will be my place to post the little bits and pieces I write as I feel like it or for my course, but I do have larger projects I am/would like to start working on (A novel, perhaps?). If and when those projects get off the ground, this site will inevitably be updated to include them.

I'm always looking for new and exciting opportunities. Feel free to reach out!

I live, work and study on the stolen lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. Sovereignty was never ceded. This is, and always was, Aboriginal land.
